Move aside, Kansas. Indiana has more violent tornadoes than the state of Wizard of Oz fame. And a tornado that recently hit Pendleton was a sobering reminder of that statistic.
Although 75 homes were severely damaged and more than 4,000 people were without power, fortunately, only minor injuries were reported.
While scouting for another project, a couple of our team members stopped to examine and take some aerial photography of the wreckage that hit Pendleton. It was a reminder of Indiana's status as the No. 2 site of most damaging tornadoes — just behind the state of Oklahoma.
